Development of a Capacitive Touch Panel Integrated with Capacitive Switch that Improves Usability and Design ability

    
We are pleased to announce that we have developed and started taking orders for a Capacitive Touch Panel Integrated with Capacitive Switch.
In recent years, highly-usable full-flat capacitive touch panels have increasingly been installed for automotive uses such as car navigation equipment and central controls for vehicles.
There have also been increased needs for full-flat and stylishly designed capacitive touch switches rather than mechanical switches in the area around the control panel.
This product realizes a full-flat and stylish design by combining the capacitive touch panel and capacitive touch switches.
It improves usability by enabling the capacitive touch panel and capacitive touch switch controller parts to be controlled with a single controller in contrast to before when those parts had to be separate. Additionally, it enhances design ability because it allows the capacitive touch switch layout to be designed freely.
Display sizes of up to 10 inches are supported, and the number of capacitive touch switches can be increased to a maximum of 24 keys.
We intend to further expand our repertoire of capacitive touch panels for automotive uses - a market expected to expand more and more in the future.
We plan to have production capability of 100,000 units a month at our Philippines plant.

This product was exhibited at our "TEXPO 2012" technical exhibition held at Shinagawa Goos from 6th to 8th June this year.
